XRP technical analysis: Odds favor the likelihood of an ATH

In the higher time frame, the XRP market was influenced by both buyers and sellers, each vying for dominance. The XRP price prediction lays the groundwork for a closer examination of its prospects in 2024 and beyond. 

July 2023 was a monumental month for Ripple, as it secured a partial victory against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This pushed XRP to a trading high of $0.93, establishing $0.74 as the highest yearly resistance. 

It marked the beginning of range-bound price action as XRP continued to move sideways between this high and $0.47. The market’s overvaluation of the asset resulted in a correction in late July. Consequently, it lost its gains to drop to the latter level by mid-August. 
 

In mid-October, the asset rallied with the broader market. Despite XRP retesting the highest resistance in mid-November, it failed to execute a definitive breakout above $0.66. A culmination of selling pressure resulted in a bearish flip of the midline at $0.58 and then $0.53 in early and late January, respectively.
 

A similar rally emerged in February, but it lost momentum by April. Subsequently, XRP consolidated in a smaller range between $0.53 and $0.47 from mid-month. The broader market downturn resulted in a bearish breakdown.

The drop to $0.40 in early July signified a break of the extended 11-month range. Nonetheless, by the second week, the bulls reclaimed $0.47. AMBCrypto’s analysis revealed that the early-month drop was a deviation. Furthermore, this swift recovery highlighted that XRP can retrace its previous highs. 

This materialized as the asset broke past the upper limit of the shorter three-month range by mid-month, turning the trend bullish. At the time of writing, the altcoin traded slightly over the midline at $0.60. Notably, whale activity surrounding it has been relatively high in recent weeks, aligning with the uptrend.
 

If the current trend continues, bulls can target the established barriers on the weekly chart. A jump above the yearly peak would allow for a stronger rise toward $0.80 and $0.94. With a sustained uptrend, reaching $1 could be possible.

Meanwhile, AMBCrypto observed that XRP was repeating a bullish pennant formation, last seen in 2017, leading to its all-time high (ATH). If it continues, the asset could reach new ATHs by the end of 2024 or 2025. Another report supported this outlook by examining the development of a seven-year-long triangle pattern. 

Notwithstanding, if sell-offs ensue, XRP can fall back to $0.47. If this level is flipped bearishly again, the asset might follow the previous pattern, with the next downside target set at $0.36. 

Our predictive models remain optimistic about XRP's future, forecasting a price of more than $20 by 2028. By 2035, XRP is anticipated to average over $3,000, marking a substantial four-digit valuation.

XRP's 2024 roadmap: Key indicators to watch and trade

• The trading volume mirrored the price’s ups and downs. A significant rise in volume accompanied the late February rally, though it fell again as prices dipped. The recent recovery also triggered a modest uptick in volume, indicating investor interest.
• Throughout the analysis, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) peaks corresponded with price increases toward the longer upper range limit and troughs aligned with price decreases. It moved over the 50 line in early July, registering at a press time value of 58.59, indicating a bullish bias.
• The Bollinger Bands started converging after a substantial initial expansion as the price moved sideways. Alternating between resistance and support, the 20-week Moving Average (MA) remained close to the price. 
• The candles decisively dropped below 20 MA in early April and touched the lower band by July, repelling the bands slightly apart. However, the candles regained dominance by mid-July, highlighting a resurgence of buying pressure.
